London Photography Shoot

Last weekend I spent a few days in London with some friends on a photography course run by Chris Chambers Wedding Photographer.  I have done most of Chris' courses over the years and they are always good experience. It was great to meet up with everyone and have some fun shooting in London late at night.  Here are a few of the images...

Sarah & Joe

Sarah & Joe were married at The Craiglands hotel, Ilkley on the 11th August 2012. It was such a great day.  Both the bride and the groom were relaxed and great in front of the camera. Here's a few images from their wedding day.

Claudia & Mike

Claudia and Mike were married in Thailand a few weeks ago with just their close friends and family present.  On their return they held an evening reception at Aspire in Leeds for their wider group of friends and family.  It was a fantastic evening in a beautiful building. 'The Substitutes' played some fantastic covers which got the dancefloor packed!! Here's a few snaps of the evening reception...

Lizzie & Chris' Wedding

A couple of weeks ago I was second shooting for a Martin Slater of Halo Imaging at The White Horse at Sharlston.  It had rained all week but fortunately the sun came out for Lizzie & Chris' big day.  The White Horse is an intimate, picturesque venue in the village of Sharlston.  Here's a few photos from the day...

Lucy & Pete's Wedding at The Woodlands

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Lucy & Pete's wedding at The Woodlands.  The weather started off wet and overcast but by the time the wedding was in full swing, we had some fantastic blue skies.

Lucy & Pete had a civil ceremony at The Woodlands followed by the Wedding Breakfast for all their friends and family.  Here are a few photographs from their day...

Urban Wedding Photography Course

It's been another busy weekend for me.  After filming a wedding, with my Dad, on Saturday at the fabulous Rudding Park, it was then time for a course I have been looking forward to for quite a while - Chris Chambers Photography Urban Wedding Course.

We met early morning and fueled up with hot chocolate. Then it was hats on, scarves on and thermals on, to brave the freezing cold weather! Our brave and stunning models, Gemma and Nick, were fantastic throughout the day and gave us all the opportunity to take some lovely photographs.

We visited new office buildings, the Victoria Quarter, back alleys and finished off at the Town Hall.  There were points in the day when we were so cold that we couldn't feel our fingers but we carried on regardless and the great friendly atmosphere between the group made the day a great social event too.

If anyone is thinking of brushing up on their skills or just wanting the opportunity to take some great portfolio pictures then get in touch with Chris Chambers Photography.  As someone on the course described him, 'The Heston Blumenthal of photography'! I would highly recommend this course, or to be honest, any of his courses.

Busy Busy!

This week has been a really busy week for me, which is great!

I attended my first wedding fayre on Sunday at Weetwood Hall in Leeds, which was a great success.  I've taken lots of phone calls and attended a few appointments, resulting in four wedding bookings this week!

On Monday I had a boudoir shoot with Jo.  Jo was bought a Boudoir Shoot gift voucher for Christmas by her mum.  She was a little nervous initially but was soon in the swing of things and enjoying the shoot!  We had a great time and, as you will see below, Jo looked amazing!!

Cath & Stephen

On the 8th December I photographed Cath & Stephen's wedding at The Town Hall, Leeds.

The weather was not so great but that did not detract from the warm happy buzz that surrounded the wedding party on the day.

I met with the bride and bridesmaids in the morning where the champagne was flowing!  Cath was quite chilled out for a bride-to-be (think the champagne helped!)

Once at the Town Hall, the ceremony was great and afterwards the happy couple lead out to the front of The Town Hall, followed by the wedding party.  We had a quick opportunity for a few photographs but then the rain and wind got the better of us and so we headed to the wedding reception venue, The Roast.

The Roast is on the River Aire and so later we took the opportunity (when the rain stopped) to take a few shots.

A great day was had by all and this was just part one...

Part two happened the day after when an evening reception was held at South Leeds Stadium for all Cath & Stephen's friends.  The beer was definitely flowing!!

The Lovely Jo

My Yummy Mummy friend, Jo, turned 40 last September.  She was somewhat mortified(to say the least!) about this and didn't want to celebrate it whatsoever.

At one of our kiddie coffee mornings just after 'The Day", I asked Jo if she fancied having some Boudoir photographs taken.  She jumped at the chance and so a date was booked.

A few weeks later, that date arrived.  Jo arrived for the shoot with a bottle of wine in one hand and a bag of gorgeous underwear in the other!  The shoot was great fun and the results were fantastic.   We even ended up shooting in the park after dark!

Jo's confidence was ski-high and so it should be - I hope I look as good at 40!

Nick & Linzi - Yorkshire Sculpture Park

On the 29th December, I caught up with my Head of Year teacher from when I was at Crofton High School, Mrs Goodwill, to photograph her son Nick and his girlfriend Linzi.  The last I remember of Nick was him being 10 years old - Now look at him!

The weather wasn't very pleasant so we headed to Camillia House at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and then took advantage of the fabulous Plensa Collection when it had stopped raining a little.

Was great catching up with Mrs G and reminiscing about the good old days at school and what a wonderful pupil I was...! We laughed about some great memories over a hot chocolate after the shoot.

As for Nick andLinzi - what a lovely couple they are. Maybe wedding bells one day...?
